Heather + BTVs + Job this journal entry posted on April.14.2008 General Life Update Time: Heather - is awesome. Still. She has a new job which seems to be a much better job. Better pay, better benefit options, shorter hours, fewer dead birds and all that. I'm very lucky to have her in my life. She has taught me a lot about life. A lot of the philosophy that I get credited with having actually comes from her. We make a really awesome team. BTVs - are awesome! We had to retool a little bit as we lost a few band members. But the new BTVs that have stepped in are really great and the band just keeps rolling along. The most recent Dance Alive was really, really fun (even though it was upstairs in the oppressive heat, where no food & drink were allowed, and we were all crammed into a tiny space. There were many kids dancing, and lots of really great music. And all the new music we're working on is quite awesome as well. My job - is not awesome. It used to be. But they are working around the clock trying to figure out how to make it suck. I keep finding myself working longer and longer hours --which I'm not a fan of. And probably the worst part about it is is that I can't really say "they" are making my job suck because the reality of it is "we" are making my job suck. I am the instrument of ever increasing suckiness. They're like "Alex, next week we'd like to make it so the job sucks a bit more by giving all the workers these extra tasks to do with no additional pay. What do you think about that?" And I'll be like "I think that totally sucks." and they'll be like "Great. So we'll start the new changes on Monday, thanks for your compliance in this matter." I mean I am grateful that it used to be such a cool job that even all of the changes thus far have only made it no longer awesome. My job doesn't really suck relative to the jobs of most of the people I know. But I have to say it is getting there little by little. AMProSoft BlogCaster v3.0 | Welcome.
